Artwork Information

Below are the standard artwork requirements for imprinting most items.

If you don't have the suggested formats, or need artwork created,
just send us what you have and we'll work with you to create what you need.

Not sure if your art will work? Send it to us and we'll let you know:  Email Artwork

What are acceptable formats for artwork?
Preferably, we'd like to receive files that were created in Adobe Illustrator saved as EPS, AI or PDF files in vector format. Vector format means that all elements were created within the program, no scans or graphics were imported or placed in the file.

If you don't have artwork in this format, just send us what you have. We'll review it and see if it's workable, or if we need to make some adjustments to it for best reproduction.

What about fonts?
All fonts need to be converted to paths or outlines. In Illustrator, this command is located in the Type Menu as Create Outlines. This will convert the fonts to points and paths and not require us to need any specific fonts. It also assures that your type is reproduced as you expect.

Can my artwork have halftone screens or graduations?
It depends. Some products can be imprinted with screens or graduations with no problem, especially those which are digitally printed. However, some manufacturers will have problems imprinting a screen with the resulting imprint being acceptable. Some items which tend to pose difficulties with screens are mugs or glasses, plastic bags and items with small imprints. It's best to check with us if your artwork does contain screens so we can verify if it will work or not.

What artwork formats won't work?

Artwork that's been placed in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Quark or InDesign can pose problems. They may require conversion or recreation, depending on how they are to be used.

If this is all you have, send it to us and we'll see what needs to be done to make these files work for your imprinting needs.

What are the artwork requirements for 4 Color or Digital Imprinting?

Graphic formats such as JPEG, TIFF, PSD, GIF and PNG are acceptable for 4 color process or digital imprinting depending on the size and resolution of the file. Most applications of this type of imprinting will require at least 300dpi files which are at least the same size as the imprint area for the item. If your artwork has been pulled off a website, more than likely, it is not going to be a good quality image for imprinting.

Can I use a specific PMS or Pantone color on my imprint?

PMS (Pantone Matching System) is a standard color system used for specifying ink colors. Many manufacturers will allow you to specifiy any PMS color for your imprint in addition to their standard ink colors. Some may charge an additional fee for this.
